Ruddington Parish Council Meeting

It’s your monthly opportunity to find out what’s happening and have your say on what’s planned in our village. The meeting will start at 7.30pm and is held in St Peter’s Rooms. Ruddington Parish Council (RPC) meetings are open to all, and time is allocated for residents to share views on items that are on the agenda. Items under discussion tonight include agreeing RPC’s Budget for 2023-2024 and deciding on the Council’s response to the ‘Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan: Preferred Approach Consultation’. You can read more about the latter >>HERE<<. The agenda…

‘Warm Welcome Spaces’ Agreed in Ruddington

Last month we reported how St Peter’s Church and Ruddington Parish Council were launching a village initiative to help those here who may struggle to both feed their families and heat their homes this winter. Whilst, thankfully, the Chancellor’s ‘Autumn Statement’ this week has left the current UK energy price caps in place throughout the coldest part of the year, already soaring gas and electricity costs are presenting a challenge for many in Ruddington. That’s why a public ‘Open Meeting’ was held in St Peter’s on October 18th 2022. Church member…

New Chair Gets Ready For Remembrance

As Ruddington prepares for the annual Royal British Legion Parade and Service of Remembrance at our War Memorial, on Sunday 13th November 2022, the Ruddington and District Branch has a new Chairman. Malcolm R Greenberry (pictured above) was elected to the role in May this year following the sad passing of longstanding Chair, Ken Hicks. “Ken worked hard for the Branch, the county and Ruddington, and will be missed by many” says Mr Greenberry. “It was suggested to me that I might volunteer myself, which I did, and was voted in unanimously, with…

Seeking ‘Warm Spaces’ this Winter

Despite the turmoil within our Government continuing – with the appointment of a new Chancellor of the Exchequer one of the recent changes – thankfully the latest gas and electricity price caps and £400 household energy rebates are not yet among the policies being reversed by Downing Street. Nevertheless, the soaring cost of everything, not just our fuel bills, means some Ruddington residents will still struggle to both feed their families and heat their homes this winter.  The support website ‘Warm Welcome UK’ says: “There is an estimated £800 gap…
