U3A Monthly Meeting & Guest Speaker

Monday’s monthly meeting is run by our local U3A – University of the Third Age. It’s for “retired and semi-retired people to make new friends, keep active and learn together. Of course it’s not a university in the usual sense. It’s a university of life” says the Ruddington and District U3A.

This month’s scheduled Guest Speaker is Bob Massey on ‘The Biggest Worsted Mill’. Non-members are always welcome. You can attend for free at the first session and the branch says “but must thereafter join to be entitled to attend further meetings”.

Membership for a full year is £20, and you can either join at the meeting, and chat to members, or find out more from the website. The Ruddington & District Branch was formed in 2018. There are interest groups from wine tasting to walking, languages to book lovers, photography to painting & drawing, as well as scrabble, a monthly quiz and many more activities for you to join in. Also new committee members are needed, so please get in touch if you’re interested.

The meetings are held, on the third Monday of the month, for members at 2pm in Ruddington Methodist Church. Just go along, with your membership card, please.
