School Celebrates New Ofsted Report!

Staff, children and parents say they’re delighted that a Ruddington school judged to ‘Require Improvement’ two years’ ago has now been rated ‘Good’ in all areas. Pupils and staff gathered in the playing field at James Peacock Infant and Nursery School with balloons and banners {top photo} to celebrate the achievement. Posh New Gate For Private Estate

A driver who was fleeing from police through Ruddington last summer, before being brought to an abrupt halt by an unexpected closed gate, has unwittingly been responsible for a much more attractive replacement! A police pursuit on June 14th 2019 resulted in the suspect’s vehicle crashing into the locked gateway from Churchill Drive into Manor Park – destroying one of the brick pillars and damaging the gate itself (below). Manor Park Retirement Complex Approved

Proposals submitted over the summer, for a substantial new retirement complex at the heart of Ruddington’s Conservation Area in Manor Park, have been approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council planners. Churchill Retirement Living can now go ahead with its development of 43 apartments for older people, plus a guest apartment and communal facilities along with car parking and landscaping. 29 of these sheltered apartments will be single bedroomed, whilst 14 will have two bedrooms. Car Crashes Into Manor Park Gates After Police Chase

A Police pursuit through Ruddington this afternoon ended up with the car the officers were following colliding with the gateway at the Churchill Drive end of Manor Park. It would seem the driver was unaware he would come across a closed gate – which brought the vehicle to an abrupt halt.  Eye witnesses saw one person from the crashed car being detained at the scene but another running off.
