Ruddington’s Spring Bank Holiday Buses

This year, due to previously planned VE Day 75th anniversary celebrations, both Friday 8th May and Monday 25th May 2020 are designated Bank Holidays. Whilst most of us should be avoiding all travel and staying at home during the COVID-19 ‘lockdown’, Nottingham City Transport is maintaining a core service on its Green 10 route for key workers from our village, for those needing to get by bus to Ruddington’s shops to buy essential supplies or for medical requirements. The reduced daily timetable the company is currently operating will also apply on both of these dates. You can…

Easter in Ruddington – Exercise, Shopping & Services

As the unprecedented lockdown continues across the UK, to try to halt the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus, this year’s Easter activities and celebrations in Ruddington will be mainly confined to people’s homes plus short trips out for exercise or essential shopping. Whilst we can visit Rushcliffe Country Park and other village open spaces for our permitted daily walk, run or cycle, we must observe ‘social distancing’ of at least two metres from others whilst doing so. Picnics are not permitted. Also please remember that play areas and other Ruddington outdoor exercise equipment…

Bus Fare Changes Postponed

In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, Ruddington’s main transport provider has put off all planned fare increases indefinitely. However its Navy 3 service has now been suspended whilst the frequency of its Green 10 buses to and from our village has been reduced. Nottingham City Transport says ‘unprecedented times’ – when buses should now only be used for ‘essential’ travel – prompted it to postpone the rise in fares which should have taken effect from 29th March 2020. All bus, Easyrider, Robin Hood and NCTX Buses app prices are remaining unchanged until further notice –…

Special Bus Timetables Introduced for Essential Journeys Only

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement that we now should leave home for very limited purposes, coupled with a significant recent decline in bus use, Nottingham City Transport has announced it will dedicate its services to core routes only from Wednesday 25th March 2020. The company says this temporary bus network will focus on getting as many key workers to their jobs as possible and providing access to essential shops and services for those without cars. Whilst even more stringent COVID-19 Coronavirus restrictions remain in place, for Ruddington this means the Navy 3 service will no…

Robin Hood Marathon Green 10 Changes

The annual Robin Hood Marathon is taking place this Sunday 29th September which will affect Nottingham City Transport buses crossing the route, including Ruddington’s Green 10 and Green 10C services. Some disruption will occur between 8.30am and 1.30pm. During all of this period: Green 10/10C from Ruddington will follow its normal route to Trent Bridge and then continue along London Road (the Victoria Embankment stop will be closed), and left Canal Street to the Broadmarsh area, where it will resume its normal route to the City Centre. Buses towards Ruddington will follow their normal…

Evening Disruption for Ruddington Bound Buses

Nottingham City Transport is advising passengers of changes to its Green 10 service for almost three weeks whilst Nottinghamshire County Council carries out resurfacing work on part of the A60 – including Trent Bridge and Loughborough Road. This work will mean the closure of that part of the A60 to all traffic and, as a result, its Navy and Green line services will need to be diverted from Monday 15th July 2019 until Thursday 1st August inclusive between 7.00pm and 5.00am each night. Ruddington’s Green 10 will follow its normal route along Meadows…

Future of Navy 3 Bus Secure!

Ruddington’s main transport operator has confirmed the changes it made to our Navy 3 bus service in January have been sufficient to safeguard the route. Timetable reductions were introduced ‘reluctantly’ earlier this year by Nottingham City Transport after the multi-award winning bus company revealed it had been running these services at a loss ever since taking over the old ‘Ruddington Connection’ route just over three years’ earlier. It was in November 2015 that Trent Barton announced it was to withdraw its historic bus service from the City to Clifton via Wilford…

Have a #RuddyGood Clean Air Day!

It’s Clean Air Day this Thursday the 20th June – when we’re encouraged to find out more about air pollution, share information with friends and colleagues, and help make the atmosphere cleaner and healthier for everyone. If you can walk or cycle to work or school that’s the cleanest way of all. Otherwise travelling by bus is one of the most environmentally friendly ways to go – especially now that Ruddington’s Nottingham City Transport (NCT) services are greener than ever. New Green 10 Bio-Gas buses were introduced in our village almost…

Green 10 Diverted This Week

Passengers using Nottingham City Transport’s Green 10 service off-peak this week will find themselves diverted – and perhaps not able to catch their bus to or from the regular stop – due to resurfacing work on its route. From Monday 11th until Monday 18th February, each night between 18:00-06:00, Loughborough Road (between the Nottingham Knight Island and Boundary Road) and part of Boundary Road is being closed. Ironically, the resulting “circular” diversion will see off-peak buses running from Ruddington village centre down Wilford Road – a route which lost its…
