Drop in Reported Crime During May

Although of no consolation to those who were targeted, most Ruddington residents and traders will be relieved to hear there’s been a slight reduction in reported crime during the past month. Rushcliffe Police have listed just 16 offences in our village – down from 20 the month before. In total there were five burglaries, two vehicles stolen and four thefts from vehicles – with the rest of the incidents relating to criminal damage, anti-social behaviour (ASB) and drug use. Criminals Target Apotheka

Police are investigating after a new restaurant & café-bar in Ruddington, which only began trading in March, was raided by thieves over the weekend. “Apotheka”, at 6 Wilford Road, was broken into early on Sunday morning, with a quantity of cash and drinks stolen. The venue is now run by Jack Robson – who originally worked for McArtney’s Catering before buying out the company in 2015 and then acquiring the former “Bar Six” business from John Noble and Lucy Would in November last year. Following our news of further incidents in our village earlier this week, Rushcliffe Police has now published the full list of crimes committed in Ruddington during April 2018. Car Criminals Strike Again

Rushcliffe Police warn that several incidents of car crime were reported in Ruddington overnight on Monday 2nd April and Tuesday 3rd April. A green Honda Accord was stolen from outside premises on Camelot Street sometime between 7pm and 7am. Also a White Hyundai was broken into by “unknown means” and a Dell laptop was stolen from inside – whilst a Mercedes parked on Wilford Road was entered but nothing was stolen. The number of reported crimes in Ruddington fell last month – according to figures for February just released by Rushcliffe Police. In fact, there were just NINE offences in total – most of those being drive-offs from Ruddington Service Station. Threat to Village Cashpoints

Police are asking villagers to keep our eyes peeled for a forklift truck stolen this week – fearing it may be used to commit cashpoint crime. It follows a spate of incidents around the area when such a vehicle has been utilised by crooks to rip ATMs from the outside walls of shops to try to steal the money.
