Flawforth Lane Closed After Diesel Spill

Motorists are unable to use Flawforth Lane in and out of Ruddington today following an incident just after midnight at the A52/A606 Wheatcroft Roundabout. Highways England said it was “due to an extensive diesel spillage. The A52 will need partly resurfacing.” The A52 was closed westbound between the A606 and the A60 for several hours overnight, but the agency reported it was partly reopened just before the morning rush hour today: “Lane 2 of two lanes is now flowing past the spillage and therefore the A52 is partly open.” However…

Drivers Warned to Expect Delays

Ruddington’s motorists should brace themselves for more queues exiting and entering our village – as multi-way traffic signals are put into use at one of our busiest junctions tomorrow (Monday 20th August). Renewal of the road linings at the Loughborough Road/Kirk Lane/Flawforth Lane crossroads is being carried out by Nottinghamshire County Council. The good news is that the work is expected to last only for one day – so the disruption caused by the temporary traffic lights should be short lived. ‘Walking Bus’ Proposed for Ruddington

A fun, healthy, safe and environmentally friendly way for children to get to our village schools is being suggested for pupils in Ruddington. A “Walking Bus” is a form of student transport for school kids who, chaperoned by adults, walk to school along a set route, in much the same way a school bus might drive them there. Like a traditional bus, walking buses have a fixed route with designated “bus stops” and “pick up times” at which they collect the youngsters. A survey has been launched in collaboration with NHS…
