Our village is to feature on national television again this week thanks to Glaswegian comedian Susan Calman. For the second episode of her seventh series of ‘Grand Day Out’ on Channel Five, Susan hits the road to Nottinghamshire – including a visit to Ruddington’s increasingly famous Framework Knitters’ Museum. Amongst other things, she’s taught how to knit on one of the Griswold circular knitting machines. Excitement is mounting as Ruddington’s most famous park runner continues to progress in a top-rated, national, television contest. Voice UK Star’s Ruddington Roots

If Saturday night TV talent shows are one of your weekly treats then you may well have already seen Eliza Gutteridge. Last weekend the 16 year old singer wowed the judges during the blind audition stage of The Voice UK on ITV, and the familiar local surname is no co-incidence because her family is from here. In fact the Gutteridges can trace their Ruddington roots back to 1640! Location, Location, Location!

Ruddington is destined to be back on the national homebuyers’ radar soon after another visit from the popular Channel 4 property programme – presented by Phil Spencer and Kirstie Allsopp (pictured). Villagers were alerted to the filming of an episode of “Location, Location, Location” here when cameras and crew appeared on The Green this morning.  The reality show, now in its 17th year, follows Phil and Kirstie trying to find the perfect home for a different set of buyers each week.
