Our Village Market Turns Three!

Organisers of Ruddington Village Market are planning something of a celebration this February – as the popular, monthly event celebrates its third birthday. Whilst it might seem like only yesterday, in fact its launch was way back in February 2019. Since then, the market has grown from 15 stalls and a few hundred visitors at The White Horse Inn, to an anticipated 74 stalls of quality food, drink and crafts on The Green when it returns from its ‘winter break’ on Saturday February 5th 2022. Ruddington Green Goes Green

Cyclists now have some further options to secure their bikes in our village centre, thanks to two double cycle racks just installed on The Green by Ruddington Parish Council. The idea of more robust bike racks for Ruddington, in addition to those outside the Co-op and the wall brackets attached to some existing shop fronts, was suggested by Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) as part of the ‘Traders’ Village Improvement Plan’. Breakers’ Boss Bows Out

One of the best known characters in Ruddington’s retail community has left his post – after more than seven years as Operations Manager for a Nottinghamshire brewer. Nottingham Brewery has confirmed the departure of Andy Heath due to the imminent sale of The Frame Breakers pub on High Street – which the company has owned and run for the past six years. Andy joined the brewery in September 2014 – after 16 years working for J D Weatherspoon – and is credited with turning around the fortunes of the Ruddington pub, following…

Market’s Easter Return

Saturday April 3rd sees the return of our much loved Ruddington Village Market on The Green. After a three month hiatus, the market is back on Easter Saturday with 40 essential traders selling food and drinks in line with current lockdown guidelines. Village Market Cancelled Until Easter

Organisers of our monthly Ruddington Village Market have announced that the popular event will be put on hold until April 3rd – Easter Saturday. The difficult decision by Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) has been made on COVID-19 safety grounds following the recent surge in cases of the new variant Coronavirus which has recently led to a third national ‘lockdown’. After being cancelled last November (during the previous ‘lockdown’) the market did take place again in December under Nottinghamshire’s Tier 3 restrictions. £5K Funding Boost for Village Market

As hundreds of visitors flocked to today’s festive Ruddington Village Market, its volunteer organisers learned they’d won a grant from Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) to make it even better next year! RUDDINGTON.info can reveal that Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP), which runs the monthly event on The Green, has been awarded ‘matched funding’ of £5,359 to purchase larger marquees for the market and other community events plus secure storage for equipment and rubber matting for pedestrian walkways. Village Market on The Green Hailed a Huge Success

This weekend Ruddington Village Market returned after a four month physical absence, and it was a huge success – with organisers, traders and visitors doing an outstanding job of relaunching as a ‘socially distanced’ market in its new location on the village green.
