Village residents and drivers have been warned to expect more queues on Wilford Road due to another week of temporary traffic lights – this time for gas work in connection with the new ‘Fairham Green’ housing development.
There also further work on Wilford Road for BT cable access – with daytime temporary signals – straight afterwards.
Additionally during November, there’s set to be gas work on Kirk Lane, street lamp replacement along Clifton Road, Severn Trent Water work in our village centre, and the usual ninety minute road closure outside St Peter’s Church for the annual parade and service on Remembrance Sunday.
The full list of this month’s planned Ruddington roadworks (so far) can be found below:-
- From Wed 3rd to Tue 9th November – 24 hour two way signals on Wilford Road adjacent to Bloor Homes’ Development – Exposure of gas main for diversion works – by C3 Construction
- Sun 7th November – On Kirk Lane close to the Loughborough Road junction – Traffic Control via Stop/Go boards to enable a lane closure gas work – by Cadent
- Wed 10th & Thu 11th November – 9.30am to 3.30pm only – Three way signals on Wilford Road at the Oliver Drive junction (entrance to the Bloor Homes site) – To allow BT Openreach access to underground structure
- Sun 14th November from 10.00am to 11.30am – closure of Church Street from its junction with High Street to its junction with Charles Street – for ‘Ruddington Remembrance Day Parade’ – by Ruddington Parish Council
- Tue 16th & Wed 17th November – 9.30am to 3.30pm only – Work to replace street lighting columns along Clifton Road between Clifton Avenue & Old Station Drive – two-way signals in use
- Wed 17th Nov at 8.00am to Fri 19th November at 5.00pm – Multi-way temporary traffic signals at the High Street/Parkyns Street junction – for work by Severn Trent Water
- Sat 4th December from approx 6am to 10pm – Closure of High Street from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Kirk Lane – for Ruddington Christmas Market
Residents and visitors can expect delays and disruption for drivers, and also passengers using Kinchbus 9, CT4N Services 22 & 23 & Nottingham City Transport’s Navy 3 & Green 10C/10X Rushcliffe Country Park/Ruddington Fields buses and the NottsBus Connect Service 863, during the above work.
