Rushcliffe Police have revealed they seized 147 cannabis plants of different sizes and stages of cultivation during their early morning raid on a house in Asher Lane last month.
It was after receiving tip-offs from the local community around suspicious, drugs related activity at the Ruddington address. A man was arrested at the scene and has appeared in court in connection with the discovery.
The drugs bust is one of eighteen crimes detailed in our village statistics for July – DOUBLE the number of offences reported the month before. It appears some of these may have been made easier by premises and property being left insecure during the warmer weather.
Sergeant Rob Spry of Rushcliffe Police says: “One particular area of response policing that has been busy is burglary. With the weather being hot it is often our choice and temptation to leave windows open during the night. I would certainly recommend that you go onto the Nottinghamshire police website to remind yourself of the home security checklist.”
