Drivers accessing Ruddington along Clifton Road are facing unexpected hold-ups after temporary traffic lights appeared there this morning (Thursday 24th March).
A gas leak was detected between the Old Station Drive turn and the Pasture Lane roundabout – resulting in Cadent Gas installing 24 hour two-way signals and digging up the westbound carriageway over the former railway bridge.
As this is one of Ruddington’s busiest routes, motorists are being warned to expect delays – especially at peak times – while the escape is traced, excavated and repaired. We’re being warned this could take until next Wednesday, March 30th, however Cadent is hoping to complete its work sooner. The footway has also been closed, for safety reasons, so pedestrians are asked to use the new ground level footpath accessed via Old Station Drive until the repair is finished.
Bus passengers using Nottingham City Transport’s Navy 3 and CT4N Services 22 & 23 are also liable to be delayed.
The timing could have been better, since motorists along Wilford Road are also facing temporary traffic lights today due to resurfacing work in connection with the new Bloor Homes development.
