Ruddington ‘Wakes’ Funfair
This is an annual, traditional, family Funfair called Ruddington ‘Wakes’. It is run by David Cox Family Amusements, and it’ll run until Sunday 30th of June on Sellors’ Recreation Ground – also known as Sellors’ Playing Field – running along Wilford Road.
The 5-day event continues on Friday 28th June at 5pm – and will start from 2pm this weekend (Sat 29th & Sun 30th).
If you live in Ruddington, walking to the Funfair is recommended. For those not in the village there’s some free onsite parking. Alternatively, except on Sunday, you can catch NCT’s Navy 3 bus service direct to the fair alighting at Paget Crescent bus stop. The Green 10 bus takes you as far as the village centre and back in the evenings and on Sunday.
Ruddington ‘Wakes’ dates back over one hundred years, when St Peter’s Feast was the start of the summer school holidays. You can read this year’s news story <<HERE<<.
