Ruddington has entertained two young teams from A.G. Grenay, the football club from our French Twin town, Grenay, in north eastern France. “Le Jumelage”
Football will be the focus of this week’s visit by another young group from our “twin town” of Grenay. Although the “Twinning” activities (“Le Jumelage” in French) lapsed for several years, there’s recently been a drive to re-establish links and arrange new exchange trips between Ruddington and Grenay – which lies in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. The latest visit to Ruddington by visitors from Grenay, our twin town in France, took place over the weekend. From Thursday the 10th to Saturday the 12th of August fourteen youngsters aged from 12 to 16, accompanied by three youth workers, spent two full days with us. Activities included visits to the Framework Knitters’ Museum and Village Museum, as well as a trip to the Chinese Dinosaur Exhibition at Wollaton Hall and its satellite exhibition at Nottingham University.
