If you’re trying to reduce the amount of landfill you generate on our increasingly polluted and wasteful planet, you may be pleased to hear of a new trial taking place at Nottinghamshire recycling centres. Juice cartons and Tetra Paks cannot be placed into Rushcliffe Borough Council‘s ‘blue’ bins and so villagers have to travel elsewhere to recycle them – otherwise just throw them away with the rest of our household waste. Villagers who use Ruddington’s closest household waste recycling centre in West Bridgford are being warned that, from the start of next month, we won’t be able just to turn up there! That’s because Nottinghamshire County Council is introducing a new, trial, online booking system for residents needing to visit the Rugby Road facility, which will begin on September 1st 2020. Ruddington Farmers’ Market Seeks Stallholders

Another new initiative to attract shoppers into our village centre – aimed at both residents and visitors – will be trialled early in the New Year. Now organisers are looking for local traders interested in having a stall. The idea of a Ruddington Farmers’ Market has been doing the rounds since just after Easter – when Ruddington Parish Council called an Extraordinary Meeting.
