Fire on Fairham Close!

There were dramatic scenes in Ruddington this afternoon as a blaze swiftly spread out of control across several back gardens in our village. Three crews from Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue raced to the scene following the report of a fire on Fairham Close at 4.26pm – which quickly set fire to “multiple” sheds and outbuildings before firefighters could arrive to tackle the flames {Nottinghamshire Live photo above}. Please Don’t Burn It!

Rushcliffe Borough Council is urging residents not to burn garden waste or other materials during the current lockdown, but to store it safely at home instead. As most Ruddington households follow Government guidance to stay at home whenever possible during the Coronavirus outbreak, it’s expected villagers will continue to spend more time out in the garden – especially during the recent, warmer weather.
