Ruddington ‘Wakes’ Funfair

Ruddington’s traditional, family funfair continues this weekend. The annual event is on from 2pm on Saturday 25th and on Sunday 26th June. If you’re a Ruddington resident, walking to the funfair is recommended. For visitors not in the village there is some free onsite parking. Alternatively, except on Sunday, you can catch Nottingham City Transport’s Navy 3 bus service direct to the fair alighting at Paget Crescent bus stop. Ruddington ‘Wakes’ Funfair

This is an annual, traditional, family event. Ruddington ‘Wakes’ dates back over one hundred years, when the St Peter’s Feast was the start of the school holidays in the village (around the 29th of June). For 2022, the rides and attractions open at 5pm on Wednesday 22nd, Thursday 23rd & Friday 24th and from 2pm on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th June. BioBlitz at Rushcliffe Country Park

Family and friends come to this free event to count the number of wildlife species living in our Country Park. On Sunday 3rd July, BioBlitz continues, between 10am and 5pm. BioBlitz is a fun way to find as many different type of plants and animals in the park in just one day and one night – which started yesterday evening, with the Bat walk and talk! It’s RuddFest Weekend!

With surprisingly little ‘fanfare’ this year, Ruddington’s much loved annual beer, cider, gin, food and music festival is back – running from today (Thursday 9th) until Sunday (12th June 2022), starting each day at noon. The popular, four-day, village event usually takes place each year following the second Bank Holiday in May. However, in 2020 ‘RuddFest’ was cancelled altogether due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then delayed by the Coronavirus until August last year. Our popular monthly market promises a great shopping experience to see stallholders on The Green and a chance to visit our local shops and retailers, too.
