Children’ s Easter Egg Hunt!

Children on Easter Day “come and find the coloured eggs hidden in our Church garden!” says organiser of the Easter Egg Hunt. St Peter’s Church event in Ruddington will happen come rain (inside Church) or shine (Church grounds) on Easter Sunday, 9th April, between 2pm to 4pm. Village Museum Open

Visit the Village Museum that’s housed within part of St Peter’s Rooms, which was Ruddington’s former Victorian school. It’s open on Thursday 10.00am – 12noon from 6th April to 28th September. This museum was founded in 1968. It explores retail life in late Victorian and early Edwardian Ruddington through a series of displays which recreate the village shops of yesteryear. Park Play Area Reopens for Easter

Friends of Rushcliffe Country Park have confirmed that vital maintenance work at their large children’s play area has been completed on schedule. That means the popular Ruddington children’s facility is now back open for villagers and visitors alike, in time for Easter, having been shut for an overhaul and safety checks during March. One of Ruddington’s best known community figures has revealed he’ll soon be off to pastures new. In July 2014, at the age of just 22, Sam Hackett become the youngest ordained Baptist Minister in England and Wales. He was inducted as the Minister of Ruddington Baptist Church on September 13th 2014. Tree-mendous Job, Ruddington!

TODAY (Friday 31st March 2023) was the extended deadline by which tree planting must be registered to be included in ‘The Queen’s Green Canopy’ (QGC) as a legacy to Her Majesty. Ruddington has seen numerous local companies, groups and individuals get involved with this national initiative. The latest to be revealed is at our Country Park, where The Friends of Rushcliffe Country Park planted 10 mature trees, including Hornbeam, Silver Birch and Crab Apple to replace trees affected by ‘Ash Dieback’ (top photo).
