With Monday 25th May being another Bank Holiday, Nottingham City Transport is reminding passengers that the continuing COVID-19 ‘lockdown’ means its Green 10 buses should still only be used by key workers to and from our village – or by people needing to use public transport to Ruddington’s shops to buy essential supplies or for medical requirements. The reduced ‘core’ timetable NCT is currently operating will also apply on this date. If you’ll be changing buses onto the Medilink service, the company confirms these buses will also still run on May 25th. However, the operator’s Call…

Ruddington’s Buses as ‘Lockdown’ is Eased
Following the Prime Minister’s latest announcement that people who cannot work from home should now try to go back to their jobs, Ruddington’s main bus provider has issued a statement to clarify the current situation on its services. Nottingham City Transport (NCT) is currently operating a temporary, “core” timetable on our village Green 10 route (which can be found >>HERE<<). Although, in England, the number of COVID-19 infections and deaths has fallen, the Government is continuing to tell people to avoid using public transport whilst ever the danger of catching Coronavirus remains…

This year, due to previously planned VE Day 75th anniversary celebrations, both Friday 8th May and Monday 25th May 2020 are designated Bank Holidays. Whilst most of us should be avoiding all travel and staying at home during the COVID-19 ‘lockdown’, Nottingham City Transport is maintaining a core service on its Green 10 route for key workers from our village, for those needing to get by bus to Ruddington’s shops to buy essential supplies or for medical requirements. The reduced daily timetable the company is currently operating will also apply on both of these dates. You can…

Organised by their Ruddington Village Market team, over 40 artisan craft stalls will be hosted across three main village venues – The Cottage Hotel, The Frame Breakers and The White Horse Inn – as well as within numerous village centre shops, which are opening until late. Passengers who catch Nottingham City Transport’s Green 10/10C/10X service to and from Ruddington should note there will be some revisions to its timetable starting on Sunday September 1st. Our main bus operator is advising villagers, commuters and visitors that buses between Ruddington and Greythorn Drive Top towards the City are being retimed to run slightly earlier. NCT says, on weekdays, buses to/from Ruddington Fields Business Park will be retimed “…to improve reliability”. It adds: “The existing 07:20 from City is replaced by a new journey at 07:09, designed to ensure arrivals…

Ruddington’s main transport operator has confirmed the changes it made to our Navy 3 bus service in January have been sufficient to safeguard the route. Timetable reductions were introduced ‘reluctantly’ earlier this year by Nottingham City Transport after the multi-award winning bus company revealed it had been running these services at a loss ever since taking over the old ‘Ruddington Connection’ route just over three years’ earlier. It was in November 2015 that Trent Barton announced it was to withdraw its historic bus service from the City to Clifton via Wilford…

Two popular Ruddington bus services due to be axed because of Council budget cuts have been saved by their existing operator. CT4N, part of Nottingham Community Transport, which currently runs the the Locallink L22 and L23 services on behalf of the city and county councils, has decided to continue to operate them on a commercial basis. These buses – which connect Ruddington with Clifton, Silverdale, Wilford Lane, West Bridgford Town Centre, Gamston and Lady Bay – were due to end on on June 1st, 2019. This followed a decision by Nottingham City Council last…

It’s been revealed that two popular bus routes, which provide an hourly daytime service via Ruddington, are facing the axe under the latest Nottingham City Council (NCC) spending cuts. Currently the Council funds our Monday to Saturday Locallink L22 and L23 services – which are FREE for everyone. They run on a circular route in opposite directions through Ruddington, serving Clifton, Silverdale, Wilford Lane, West Bridgford Town Centre, Gamston and Lady Bay. In a statement, NCC reveals: “Austerity isn’t over for Nottingham, with Government cuts seeing the City Council’s main…

Ruddington’s bus users are being reminded that timetable revisions to Nottingham City Transport‘s Clifton services begin this Sunday, 27th January, and these will have an impact for passengers who currently catch the Navy 3 in and out of our village. As we reported in December, there had been months of speculation in Ruddington that this route would be axed altogether due to insufficient passenger numbers – which would leave Wilford Road without any bus service at all and Clifton Road without a bus into the City. In fact, the Navy 3 has been…

Nottingham City Transport and Nottingham City Council have announced changes to Clifton bus services next month but have revealed their Navy 3 via Ruddington will continue to operate – albeit to a reduced timetable. The good news for village residents who rely on the service comes after months of speculation that the route could be axed altogether due to insufficient passenger numbers – leaving Wilford Road without any bus service at all and Clifton Road without a bus into the City. This would have been the case just over three…
