COVID-19 Vaccine Letters Are on Their Way!

Elderly village residents and their carers are being urged to wait until they receive their notification from the NHS, rather than contacting Ruddington GPs or hospitals, or using web links shared by others to try to get an appointment earlier. Ruddington Vaccine Rollout Delayed by Coronavirus Outbreak

It’s been revealed that dozens of elderly residents at a village care home will have to wait a little longer to be immunised against COVID-19 because of an outbreak of the virus there. MyCare, which runs Orchard House on Easthorpe Street, has confirmed that routine testing picked up its first positive case on New Year’s Eve, at which point everyone was immediately put into quarantine. A community spirited Ruddington computer repairer has come to the aid of cash-strapped local parents whose children need access to a laptop for their studies during ‘lockdown’. New Year Honour for Ruddington Occupational Therapist

A community-spirited village resident says it’s “an incredible honour and privilege” to have been recognised in The Queen’s New Year Honours list for 2021. Kate Robertson, who has become very well known around Ruddington since she moved here from Newark in 1991 with her husband and three young children, will receive an MBE for ‘services to occupational therapy’. Ruddington Dance Teacher Launches Racial Equality Movement

A national campaign pushing for greater racial equality in dance has been launched by a Ruddington dance teacher. Stacey Green is the Principal of Freedom Dance and Performance Arts School on Charles Street, for children aged 2 to 18, which she started in 2002, and these days boasts around 150 pupils. She also co-founded ‘The Freedom Foundation’, which delivers dance, singing and song-writing programmes across schools to improve mental health. COVID Confusion Leads to Ruddington Pub Fine

A misunderstanding of the latest COVID-19 rules has led to a public house in Ruddington receiving a £1,000 fixed penalty notice for breaching current guidelines. It’s after The White Horse Inn accepted a booking with a total of 34 people for a birthday celebration on September 26th – having initially refused an enquiry to host 72 at the event.
