This year’s Makers’ Night is taking place on Friday 21st June from 4pm until 9pm across several village centre venues. It’s organised by the ‘Market’ team from Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP) and will see dozens of stalls in St Peter’s Church, The Framework Knitters’ Museum, Cottage Hotel, Ruddington Methodist Hall and Philo’s. Almost two years after the last Ruddington Makers’ Night, in December 2019, this much loved arts and crafts evening across our village is set to return this September. Criminals’ Quiet Christmas

Statistics released on crimes reported in Ruddington through the festive period suggest that even many law-breakers were enjoying a Christmas break this year! Figures for last month from Rushcliffe Police show there were only fifteen reported offences in our village – ranging from criminal damage, to racial abuse, to the non-payment of a bill by guests at The Cottage Hotel. Suspected perpetrators have already been identified for a third of these crimes. New Owner at The Cottage

After a few months in transition, we can confirm that Ruddington’s Country Cottage Hotel is now officially in new hands. Former staff member Sue Martin is the new owner and director – after completing the purchase from Julie and Andrew Sturt on October 25th. Throughout the process it’s been ‘business as usual’ for Sue, General Manager Linda and their team. The former Boots employee actually only branched out into hospitality in later life, after raising her children. Managers and staff at Ruddington’s Country Cottage Hotel are celebrating again after they won another accolade for taking extra steps to ensure customers are safe and have a great time when they visit. Our popular village hotel, conference, music and wedding venue – run by Julie Sturt and her son Andrew – secured the “Judges Choice Award 2016/17” for Rushcliffe.
