To ensure our household waste gets collected this week, Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) is advising us we’ll need to get our grey bins out an hour earlier than usual. Ruddington’s refuse collections this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (August 10th to 12th) will begin at 6am, instead of their usual 7am start time; to reduce RBC’s waste team’s exposure to the forecast, extreme weather conditions. Sewage Leak Closes James Peacock School

Pupils who attend Ruddington’s Infant and Nursery School have themselves at home unexpectedly today – after a flood of raw sewage affected the playground and the area around the main entrance. The incident at James Peacock School in Manor Park happened just as the school day was finishing yesterday (Monday December 6th) and was apparently caused by a sewage inspection cover springing a leak. It led to the cancellation of all classes today – with some parents and guardians having to hastily re-arrange their schedules to look after their children instead. A…

The removal of chains is usually celebrated in society. But not always, it seems, if they are those which used to surround Ruddington’s historic village green! As you can see, perimeter posts now stand with nothing in-between after the decorative but spiky links were taken down in an apparent health and safety move by Ruddington Parish Council.
