More Big Sing Success!

Our village came alive today – with the sound of singing seemingly to be heard from every direction. It was nothing to do with The Eurovision Song Contest, but rather the 2018 Ruddington “Big Sing” – which organisers have hailed a great success! Hosted by Ruddington Community Choir, it is a festival simply to celebrate the joy of singing – with over 200 members from 13 choirs taking part in 13 workshops and community singing at six different village venues. Standing Room Only at Extraordinary Meeting

Parish Councillors were left in no doubt about how passionately Ruddingtonians care about the future of our unique village centre after people packed into their specially called meeting.  Around 140 residents and traders turned up to have their say tonight (Thursday 12th April) and to hear what help the Parish Council and the community might be able to offer local businesses during tough times for traditional shops. This began to happen last summer and several community organisations…

Jo was murdered by a man in the name of nationalism and her husband, Brendan, has called upon all communities in the United Kingdom to come together during the weekend of the 16th to the 18th of June 2017 to commemorate Jo “…to show that we will not be divided and turned against each other…

Youth Centre Trashed

Police are appealing for information after Ruddington’s former “Body Centre” was broken in to and vandalised over the weekend. The damage was reported by Ryan Charlesworth who ran the building with his wife Rachel as a fitness club and community centre for over two years until they ran into financial difficulties last December. Ryan says: “Heart breaking enough to put so much effort into the place to then lose it. To see what some vandals had done inside was disgusting. They have pulled down half the ceiling, thrown paint everywhere, stolen youth club equipment and…
