A police pursuit through Ruddington this morning ended up in a two car collision in our village centre. It’s understood officers spotted a vehicle which was being driven suspiciously through the Lenton area and began tailing it as it approached Ruddington. Police say it then sped away from them and collided with another vehicle as it was being driven at some speed along Kirk Lane. Car Crashes Into Manor Park Gates After Police Chase

A Police pursuit through Ruddington this afternoon ended up with the car the officers were following colliding with the gateway at the Churchill Drive end of Manor Park. It would seem the driver was unaware he would come across a closed gate – which brought the vehicle to an abrupt halt.  Eye witnesses saw one person from the crashed car being detained at the scene but another running off. A police helicopter was deployed in the skies of Ruddington yesterday evening – to assist officers tracking a vehicle being driven at break-neck speed through our village. Residents became aware of the ongoing incident when police sirens were sounded to alert other road users as they pursued the speeding driver. Vicky Marshall reported: “I had a near miss with the car at the roundabout in Ruddington.
