Villagers certainly seemed to have pulled out all the stops this year to get into the festive spirit – with properties throughout Ruddington adorned with colourful lights and decorations ready to guide in Santa and his reindeer on the big day. After the ‘lockdown’ Christmas of 2020, and the rather restrained festive season of 2021, Ruddington’s celebrations in 2022 look as if they might just be the biggest and best ever! That’s certainly the case for this weekend’s ‘Ruddington Christmas Market’ (on Saturday December 3rd) which, as previously reported, will comprise over a hundred indoor and outdoor stalls of food, drink and gifts, two covered pop-up bars and stages of live music, and children’s activities. Village Centre Traders’ Trick or Treat!

Ruddington businesses are helping families to get into the Hallowe’en mood this weekend with their very own ‘Trick or Treat’ trail around our village centre. Ruddington Soft Play Centre Will Not Reopen

It was on Guy Fawkes’ Night almost six years’ ago that an imaginative addition to Ruddington kids’ social scene first lit up children’s faces in our village. On November 5th 2014 a new soft play centre called ‘Dizzy Rascalz’ opened its doors on Brookside Road and became an instant hit with youngsters and their parents. In March 2020, however, like so many other businesses, it was forced to close temporarily due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
