New ‘Vape Store’ Owners Address Residents’ Concerns

Even before Ruddington’s latest village centre business has opened its doors, the new signage revealing what it’s to become has caused a bit of an outcry. Housed in the former butcher’s shop at 15, Church Street, which underwent a total refurbishment around six months’ ago, the recently added shopfront states it’s an ‘Electronic & Vape Store’ with a further illuminated neon sign emphasising the ‘Vape Shop’ aspect. Residents have written to RUDDINGTON.info complaining the signage is “…horrible and not at all in keeping…”, that the business is unsuitable for our village…

‘The Big Swap Shop’ in Ruddington

Recycling and re-using are at the heart of a special ‘pre-loved’ clothing event coming to our village next month. Ruddington’s award-winning Framework Knitters’ Museum is teaming up with ‘The Big Swap Shop’ to host a swap and ‘slow’ fashion event on Saturday 10th June from 6pm to 9pm. As eco-friendly initiatives in our village gather momentum into 2020, January sees “The Great Big Ruddington Clothes Swap”. It is being run by community-minded High Street business The Bottle Top in conjunction with The Co-op. It will begin with a week of donations of unwanted quality women’s clothes, shoes and accessories, for which you will receive vouchers.
