Highway maintenance and construction works taking place in our village over the next few weeks, which are liable to disrupt traffic, are as follows:-
- Tuesday 16th Feb, 8.00am to 1.00pm – ‘Stop and Go’ boards with brief periods of ALL STOP on High Street – W R Bloodworth crane in roadway to lift materials for new shop/office development (top photo) – Footway remains closed until May 31st 2021.
- Wednesday 24th February 9.30am to Friday 26th February at 11.59pm – Two way traffic signals on Wilford Road from the the Junction of Paget Crescent to Junction of Trent Avenue – BT work to excavate footway and carriageway to clear blockages.
- Extended until 16.30 hours Sunday 28th February 2021 – Closure of Musters Road – at its junction with Western Fields – Phased work 50 metres either side of junction of Western Fields (one side at a time) – to form a vehicular entrance to the Avant Homes development with Drainage / Service Works. {Plan below.} (Resident Access maintained to Western Fields)
- Wednesday 3rd March, 09.30am To 3.30pm – Two-way traffic signals on Flawforth Lane, approx. 300m south of Wheatcroft Island Junction – Installation of two sign posts by VIA East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.
- Tuesday 9th to Friday 12th March – Traffic control (stop/go boards) on Wilford Road opposite Bloor Homes’ development – 1 joint hole in grass verge and 13m trenching in tarmac road and grass verge for supply alteration work by Western Power Distribution – to move the PMT at the side of Wilford Road into the new works compound.
- Extended until Fri 21st May 2021 – Multi-way traffic lights – A60 Loughborough Road on the eastern side of the roundabout at the junction with Mere Way – To install a toucan crossing point, widen the footway, upgrade street lighting, install a new access for the William Davis housing development, upgrade existing surface water drain, widen approaches onto the roundabout, resurface the carriageway, add white lining and anti skid surface. Residents and visitors are warned of potential delays for drivers and passengers using Kinchbus 9, Nottingham City Transport Navy 3, and Green 10C/10X Rushcliffe Country Park/Ruddingtion Fields buses, and the NottsBus Connect Service 863 during the above work.
