The Framework Knitters’ Museum on Chapel Street has just gained an international accolade – a TripAdvisor ‘Travelers’ Choice Award’ for 2023!
Each year the travel comparison website recognises favourite attractions around the world, based on reviews and ratings collected over the past year. These TripAdvisor reviews have elevated our museum into the top 10% of visitor attractions worldwide. The preserved Ruddington heritage site one of very few places left in the country where you’ll find the working and living conditions of the once large framework knitting industry.
Sarah Godfrey, creative and commercial manager at the museum, says: “We’re delighted to have won the Travellers’ Choice Awards, which wouldn’t have been possible without our employees, fantastic volunteers and wonderful customers. Over the past year we have worked hard to become a place that caters to different audiences, from the creative events and workshops – such as The Big Swap Shop – to the museum group tours and our Parker’s Yard café and shop, which is now open seven days a week.”
Sarah adds: “To be recognised for this award is a true testament to everything we’re doing, and we’d like to thank everyone who has taken the time to visit us and leave positive reviews and feedback – it really means the world!”
Through the summer months the museum itself is open on Wednesdays to Saturdays between 11am-4pm and on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays between 1.30pm-4pm. The Parker’s Yard shop and cafe – now run by The Split Screen Food and Drink Company – is free to enter and open on Mondays to Saturdays, between 9.30am-4pm, 11.30am-4pm on Sundays and 11am-4pm on Bank Holiday Mondays.
