Rushcliffe Police are reporting another burglary on the outskirts of Ruddington – at Wayte Court, off Landmere Lane – last night (Tuesday 23rd January). It happened between 5.15pm and 6.15pm when the intruder got in via a rear door. As if the previously reported spate of crimes in our village isn’t enough, Rushcliffe Police have now revealed further thieving which was going on in Ruddington over Christmas! This time it’s someone stealing used cooking oil from the rear of Gino’s Italian Restaurant on Church Street – the most recent theft being at 5.05am on Thursday 27th December 2017. Police have revealed that three properties in Ruddington were also targeted during the weekend crime spree in our village. We reported yesterday about the vehicle break-ins on Kirk Lane. It appears officers were also called about three Friday night house burglaries nearby – on Loughborough Road, Elms Park and Sheepfold Lane. Criminals Target Kirk Lane Cars

Police have renewed their appeal to Ruddington residents to be vigilant after a new spate of thefts from vehicles over the weekend. Three vehicles parked at properties on Kirk Lane were targeted between 9pm on Friday (December 8th) and 8am yesterday. Some of the stolen items were subsequently found dumped nearby. Ruddington shoppers and traders are being warned to be on the lookout for counterfeit currency ahead of this weekend’s big Christmas Fayre. Distraction Thief Arrested and Jailed!

Nottinghamshire Police report they have arrested a man on High Street in the village today (Tuesday 7th November) on suspicion of a number of recent distraction thefts against elderly people. The 29 year-old was initially detained by three quick thinking office workers after he’d approached a 77 year old woman asking for change just after she’d used the Post Office cashpoint. Ruddington Parish Council warns it has been made aware of some incidents of distraction crime that have taken place in the village recently. One resident had £90 taken from her purse whilst speaking to a man of Eastern European appearance outside the Co-op on Church Street. The lady was approached and asked if she had any change.
