Open Meeting: Warm Spaces

Come along to an open meeting to see how the village may be able to help vulnerable people during the cold winter weather to have warm spaces to go to in the daytime. It will be held at 7.30pm on Tuesday 18th October at 7.30pm in St Peter’s Church. Since last Thursday’s very sad and rather unexpected news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, residents, businesses and organisations here in Ruddington have been paying their respects in different ways. Tributes have flooded in online and in person to express our local grief, love and admiration for Britain’s longest ever reigning Monarch, whose Platinum Jubilee was celebrated so magnificently in our village just three months before her death, at the age of 96. Buckingham Palace has announced that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon (Thursday 8th September 2022). She was 96. The Queen was the UK’s longest-serving monarch, reigning for 70 years, with extensive celebrations to mark her Platinum Jubilee having taken place in Ruddington just three months’ ago.
