A popular Ruddington inn has beaten off some stiff competition to win this year’s vote as the ‘Best Pub in Rushcliffe’. The annual awards are run by Rushcliffe MP, Ruth Edwards, who again conducted a public poll on her website before announcing the results this weekend to celebrate ‘Small Business Saturday’. The annual contest run by Rushcliffe’s Member of Parliament in the run-up to each year’s ‘Small Business Saturday’ has just been launched. After the success of the inaugural competition last year, Ruddington’s representative in Parliament has launched her “Best Local Shop Awards 2021”. The initiative, from Rushcliffe MP Ruth Edwards, aims to highlights small, independent and local shops in her constituency, and what makes them special – whether it be their entrepreneurial spirit, their innovation, or their impact on the local community. Last year, there were over 400 nominations, with Ruddington’s ‘The Bottle Top’ (Ruth is pictured top with co-owner Anthony Preston) being one of the two runners-up.
