RuddFest is Postponed Again

It’s been revealed that Ruddington’s much loved annual Beer and Cider Festival – which usually attracts thousands of visitors – will not be taking place this June as planned, due to continuing concerns about COVID-19. The decision was made in the wake of the Government’s ‘roadmap’ announcement on Monday that restrictions on large events and some hospitality will not be lifted until June 21st at the earliest – which is after the originally scheduled RuddFest 2021 dates of June 3rd-6th.  Last year’s event was first postponed and then cancelled altogether because of the Coronavirus…

Autumn RuddFest Plans

The old willow tree on The Green isn’t the only big thing that’s missing from our village this weekend. Thursday 28th to Sunday 31st May were also set to be the dates of RuddFest 2020 – Ruddington’s now legendary beer and cider festival. Like all village events – other than ‘virtual’ ones – it was cancelled a couple of months’ ago due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic. Flawforth Lane Closure Put Back AGAIN

Astonishingly the closure of one of Ruddington’s key access routes – which was due to start this Monday (July 24th) – has been postponed for a FOURTH time. Even the yellow signs had gone up on this occasion – before then being taken down again! Flawforth Lane for around 200 metres from the Flawford Churchyard corner up to the Wheatcroft roundabout was originally due to be shut in early February this year for seven weeks.
