A pivotal Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) Cabinet meeting took place on Tuesday 12th September in the Council Chamber at Rushcliffe Arena when the five key RBC members were tasked with acting upon the “Local Plan Part 2: Preferred Housing Sites” report. Parish Council Favours “Southern Gateway” Housing

Ruddington Parish Councillors have voted in favour of recommending  just ONE additional site for potential Green Belt homes – off the A60 Mere Way roundabout (pictured). Asher Lane Housing Plans Refused

Ruddington residents can breathe a sigh of relief – for now – after Rushcliffe Borough Council rejected plans to build 175 new homes on our Green Belt north of Asher Lane. The proposals were lodged by land owners Space Foods Ltd back in January after a previous application for 250 houses on the same site was withdrawn just over two years earlier. In the subsequent public consultation about the development (see map below) 655 people objected to the plans with only 2 supporting them. Housing Consultation Deadline This Friday!

Village residents concerned about possible large new housing developments on Ruddington’s Green Belt are reminded that they must have their say by 5pm this Friday, the 31st of March 2017. Following last year’s public consultation, a further FOUR sites where new housing developments might be built in Ruddington have been identified by Rushcliffe Borough Council. These are shown as RUD11, RUD12, RUD13 & RUD14 on their latest map – adding to ten original sites aiming to accomodate at least another 250 houses on our greenbelt by 2028.
