Fitness fans, community and youth groups in Ruddington have been left shocked and dismayed by the sudden closure of Project Body UK on The Green. This was the organisation selected by Nottinghamshire County Council to take over the running of the former Young Peoples’ Centre just two years’ ago – after spending cuts meant that NCC could no longer afford to run it themselves. Organisers of a BBC Children in Need “24 hour Spin Challenge” in Ruddington are celebrating raising £591.50 for the kids charity – so far! Scott Cawthan and Ryan Charlesworth (pictured) completed their gruelling challenge at midday today at The Project Body UK Gym and Wellness Centre on The Green after cycling through the night. Other cyclists joined in by doing 30 minute spin sessions alongside them – in exchange for a donation in the bucket for Pudsey.
