This latest burst of creative, knitted activity has just hit our village centre for the summer – courtesy of the now infamous ‘Ruddington Yarn Ninjas’.
Following a similar ‘Yarn Bomb’ at Christmas, one or two changing pillar box toppers outside the Co-op before and after that (marking topical events such as Remembrance Day) and then a very impressive ‘Platinum Jubilee Yarn Bomb’ – where the knitters really pulled out all the stops – this new one’s called ‘Ruddington on Sea’.
A ‘Ninjas’ spokesperson tells us: “This is to bring some summer fun for kids during the school holidays- a touch of the seaside in Ruddington. Sandcastles, under the sea creatures – and lots of seagulls!”

From this weekend, there is actually a ‘Seagull Trail’ for village children to follow, too. Sheets can be collected from The Bottle Top and The Framework Knitters’ Museum from Saturday 13th August – with lots of seagulls to look out for in shop windows around Ruddington.
