Ruddington motorists are being warned to brace themselves for more delays as contractors return this week – apparently to continue fixing a water leak first spotted by local residents during the second week of August.
There were queues in all directions at the weekend as Severn Trent carried out work on Flawforth Lane at its junction with Loughborough Road and Kirk Lane to mend the pipe. Now it seems the four way temporary traffic lights are set to return from 7.00am this Wednesday (24th August) until 4.00pm on Friday (26th August) meaning more delays are inevitable.
There’s then further Severn Trent Water work along Kirk Lane scheduled from 7.00am on Saturday 10th September until 5.00pm on Sunday 11th September when two-way lights will be controlling traffic.
There’s also a warning of parking restrictions from 9.00am to 7.00pm on Thursday September 8th along Wilford Road, High Street, Kirk Lane and Loughborough Road due to the ‘Tour of Britain’ cycling event that day, with the roads closed to traffic from 10.40am to 11.20pm.
Otherwise, there are no other village roadworks scheduled at present, so far as we are aware. However, we will keep you posted!
Residents and visitors should anticipate delays for drivers, and also passengers using Kinchbus 9, CT4N Services 22 & 23 & Nottingham City Transport’s Navy 3 & Green 10C/10X Rushcliffe Country Park/Ruddington Fields buses and the NottsBus Connect Service 863, during village roadworks and events.
