Weather permitting, the road resurfacing work which did not get completed on one of Ruddington’s estates, due to ice and snow, will finally be done TOMORROW (Thursday 12th April).
Peter Topliss from Via East Midlands has confirmed to RUDDINGTON.info that Brookside Road, Brookside Gardens, Templeman Close and Shelton Gardens are still on the current schedule to be repaired and Micro Asphalted – to join up with the work which was completed on Grange Avenue and Fairham Close last month. Affected residents can expect their road to be shut, with no parking allowed, between 7.30am and 5.00pm.
Peter explains: “The work will be carried out using temporary road closures with pedestrian access available at all times. This is to comply with the current Health & Safety legislation, to protect the public and our own workforce. Due to the nature of the works, vehicle access to properties will be unavailable at certain periods within the working area until the Micro Asphalting works are completed. Please could I ask for your cooperation and refrain from parking on the roads being resurfaced on the day of Micro Asphalting or as advertised on the advanced warning boards on site. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, however we would also like to ask for your patience and co-operation whilst the works are in progress and we would like to assure you that every effort will be made to keep the disruption to a minimum.”
Regarding Camelot Street, Peter says: “That one has been pulled from this Micro programme because of the amount of structural resurfacing work that’s needed on there. There are a couple of drainage issues, plus we have the new development. So we plan to just keep that one safe for the next year and then try to get it into our 2020 programme – though that’s not guaranteed at this stage.”
Peter also warns that, if the weather should prevent the rescheduled work going ahead this week, it won’t get done until September – since contractors Kiely Bros are then booked elsewhere for the summer. So you’d better keep your fingers crossed those rainclouds stay away!
