BioBlitz Evening at Rushcliffe Country Park

You’re invited to the BioBlitz event – on tonight and tomorrow. The race is on to find as many different species (e.g. plants, birds, insects, fungi, mammals, fish) and everything else in 24-hours!

This is an outdoor, family event where expert naturalists and the public get together to undertake an intensive wildlife survey. Friends of Rushcliffe Country Park (FoRCP) says: “Come and join us in counting the number of wildlife species living in the Country Park!

On the evening of Saturday 2nd July join the free Bat walk and Moth trapping. Everyone’s welcome to meet by the lake – near the Rangers’ Office – at 9pm.

“There will be a short talk about bats and the walk will be led by bat experts, and bat detectors will be used to work out the different bat species seen.  At the same time, a moth trap will be set up and there will be a chance to see the different types of moths caught during the evening.  (The moth trap will run overnight but we are not asking people to come in then!).  During the main event on the following day, there will be a display of moths caught” explains Heather from FoRCP and you can visit Facebook.com/rushcliffecountrypark.

Just turn up to the BioBlitz events to help record our wildlife species.
