It seems criminals are trying their best to ruin Christmas for some Ruddington residents – after another house in our village was broken into on Sunday. Police have revealed that three properties in Ruddington were also targeted during the weekend crime spree in our village. We reported yesterday about the vehicle break-ins on Kirk Lane. It appears officers were also called about three Friday night house burglaries nearby – on Loughborough Road, Elms Park and Sheepfold Lane. It’s known the Loughborough Road break-in happened during quite a short time period between 10.30pm on Friday night and 2.00am on Saturday (9th December). Criminals Target Kirk Lane Cars

Police have renewed their appeal to Ruddington residents to be vigilant after a new spate of thefts from vehicles over the weekend. Three vehicles parked at properties on Kirk Lane were targeted between 9pm on Friday (December 8th) and 8am yesterday. Some of the stolen items were subsequently found dumped nearby. Ruddington shoppers and traders are being warned to be on the lookout for counterfeit currency ahead of this weekend’s big Christmas Fayre. We were first alerted to the scam by Julia Towers of Julia’s Kitchen who describes two young girls around the village who’ve been attempting to pass fake Scottish £20 notes in local shops. Elderly and vulnerable residents in Ruddington are being urged to be vigilant after a spate of distraction burglaries in the area. Nottinghamshire Police officers are advising them not to answer the door to any unexpected callers and to report anything suspicious. Police are asking villagers to keep our eyes peeled for a forklift truck stolen this week – fearing it may be used to commit cashpoint crime. It follows a spate of incidents around the area when such a vehicle has been utilised by crooks to rip ATMs from the outside walls of shops to try to steal the money. Rushcliffe Police are reporting another spate of thefts from vehicles in their patch over the last two days – THREE of them in Ruddington. Duo Jailed after Ruddington Burglary

Two men who were spotted acting suspiciously by an off-duty Nottinghamshire Police Community Support Officer following a burglary in Ruddington have been put behind bars. Robert Sisson, 28, and Roy Sisson, 38, both of Bridgefarm Lane, Clifton, were sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court today (Wednesday 9th August) having previously pleaded guilty to two counts of handling stolen goods. They were both jailed for 13 months.
