The last twelve months have seen unprecedented times for many of us – and estate agents are no different says Benwell Daykin.
This year has seen the property market flourish like never before. A continued increase in house prices and demand far outstripping that of supply are considered to be the main reasons for the continued robust price growth. Average UK house prices defied expectations and continued to climb over the last few months despite the phasing out of the government’s stamp duty holiday at the end of September.
Nationwide, amongst other lenders, are advising that the average price for a property in this region has increased by more than £30,000 since the COVID-19 Pandemic began.
There had been expectations that demand for house purchases would slow after the threshold for paying stamp duty was lowered from £500,000 to £250,000 in July, and when the tax break came to an end in September, however this hasn’t been the case.
Our agency has seen demand for property valuations increase continuously, whilst we have witnessed first-hand, that more and more people are looking to move into the Ruddington area. As a result, we have welcomed Nicola Morris into our team and look forward to her assisting future clients on their property journeys.
From all at Benwell Daykin…. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our clients, the other businesses on the Ruddington High Street and the community a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
