It seems the demand for bungalows in and around the Ruddington area continues to surge, and, despite a number of new homes’ sites, very few of them accommodate for this.
According to the latest figures released by retirement housebuilder, McCarthy Stone, 70% of over 65s would consider moving into a bungalow. However, the build rate of this house type is actually plummeting!
It’s thought the increase in demand could be due to a number of factors, but the COVID-19 Pandemic certainly has played its part. As we spent more and more time at home, the desire for space, both inside and out – and even a spare room for a home office – led to apartments becoming less desirable amongst both buyers and renters in the current market.
Nick Aston of Ruddington’s Benwell Daykin Estate Agents, based at 12 High Street, reveals: “We have been inundated in recent months with requests for bungalows. As the pandemic has played out, we have seen more and more families attempt to bring their loved ones closer to home and as such demand and prices of bungalows has shot through the roof. We recently listed a bungalow and had a sale agreed within two working days of listing the property!!”
He adds: “Demand far outstrips supply so, if you own a bungalow in and around Ruddington and are maybe considering moving – or just genuinely wondered what it could be worth in the current market – you’re invite to get in touch for a free, no obligation valuation.”
