NG11 Foodbank Becomes Sainsbury’s Local Charity
Ruddington’s support for our local “NG11 Foodbank” went one step further this month – becoming Ruddington Sainsbury’s “Local Charity of the Year”. Shoppers voted online and in store for a choice of three shortlisted local charities, to become the shop’s nominated charity partner for the next 12 months. NG11 Foodbank – which operates from The Hope Centre on Southchurch Drive in Clifton – was the winner. Friday the 24th of March 2017 is “Red Nose Day”. It’s the main biennial fundraising event organised by “Comic Relief” – broadcast live on BBC One and BBC Two television from 7.00pm in the evening until early the following morning. It raises money for numerous charities that help children in need and tackle worldwide poverty.
