U3A Monthly Meeting and Speaker

Monday’s monthly meeting is run by our local U3A – University of the Third Age. It’s for “retired and semi-retired people to make new friends, keep active and learn together. Did you know that Ruddington Women’s Institute has been active in our village for ninety-nine years? Ahead of their centenary celebrations, current members are extending a warm welcome to any woman to join them, regardless of age. They’re also keen to dispel some common misconceptions. Ruddington Solar Farm Application

Following a public consultation in our village in March 2022, Ridge Clean Energy (RCE) has now submitted a full planning application for its proposed ‘hybrid renewable energy project’ on agricultural land south west of Ruddington. Called ‘Fair Oaks Renewable Energy Park’ the power generation scheme would be located at Fields Farm off Asher Lane and pair 49.9MW of solar panels with 49.9MW of battery storage capacity.
