Come and celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s record breaking reign – starts today Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June.  To mark the Platinum Jubilee our village has been decorated with red, white and blue flowers, ribbons, flags and yarn bombing displays. The Green will be home to beacon lighting, a tree-planting ceremony and a community picnic, followed by games and live music, for all to enjoy. Ruddington Village Celebrates VE Day with the Help of Local Traders

Following the success of the Instagram Live ‘Virtual’ market, traders from Ruddington Village Market came together to showcase their products in a limited edition VE Day hamper to help the village commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe), which marked the end of the Second World War against Germany. The hampers were a huge success, with a total of 77 being prepared for residents of Ruddington to collect from The Bottle Top on the morning of the celebrations. Virtual VE Day in Ruddington!

If society was operating normally, the weekend of 8th to 10th May would have been a period of national commemoration for the 75th Anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe), which marked the end of the Second World War against Germany. In Ruddington, a community event was scheduled to take place on The Green on Saturday 9th May. ‘Ruddington Rhythm’ Launches!

Our village’s regular, acoustic music night now has a new name. The monthly gathering at The Cottage Hotel will be known as ‘Ruddington Rhythm’ in the future – rather than ‘Ruddington Folk & Blues’. Organiser Ron McSweeney explains: “I have been considering a change of name for several months. I realised that some people were ‘put off’ attending as audience members by ‘Folk & Blues’ conveying a narrow area of music. Celebrating Michael Bugg’s Life

Friends and family of a popular Ruddington man who died in a tragic accident in August are putting on a day of events in his memory.
