Rushcliffe Borough Council has announced that ‘unauthorised encampments’ are now banned at Ruddington’s Country Park after it successfully secured a court injunction, with power of arrest, to prevent camps being set up at some of its strategic locations. After Sellors’ Recreation Ground twice became a temporary home to members of the travelling community over the summer the latest Ruddington encampment is at the other end of our village. SIX caravans rolled into the Visitor Car Park in Rushcliffe Country Park at around 10am this morning (Monday 1st October) and parallel parked near to the exit.
