Santa’s Seasonal Schedule

Of course, the most hectic time of all for Santa Claus is Christmas Eve into Christmas Day morning, when he has to deliver presents all around the world, to every boy and girl who’ve been good, whilst they’re sleeping.

However, it seems Father Christmas is also set to be very busy in the festive period beforehand, with several appearances right here in Ruddington – meaning either you can go along to meet him or that he’ll be paying an early visit to us.

First up, although Santa will be coming to the three day Ruddington Christmas Market this weekend, all his bookings at The Framework Knitters’ Museum have already sold out well in advance! However, don’t worry, because this Friday 1st December you’ve still chance to go along and meet him in his grotto at St Peter’s School Christmas Fair on Ashworth Avenue from 6pm to 8pm. If you’re not successful in booking a visit online, there will be some spaces available on the night – where a friendly Elf will be happy to relieve mummy or daddy of £4 on the spot, in support of The Friends of St Peter’s Junior School.

You’ll then have further chances ‘Meet Father Christmas’ at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre on Mere Way every Saturday and Sunday between now and December 23rd from 10.30am to 4.00pm.  Sadly he’s still not on board the steam trains, but instead you will be able to walk through an amazing ‘Winter Wonderland’ to reach him. There’s a gift for every child plus drinks and cakes for grown-ups. Bookings cost £12 per child and £5 per adult and can be made by MESSAGING 07450 285202 with the date and time you’d like to visit, along with the age and gender of the child seeing Santa.

Not only that, The Rotary Club of Rushcliffe is also facilitating two Santa visits to Ruddington by towing Father Christmas on his sleigh whilst collecting here for their charity (top photo). With the help of volunteers brandishing buckets, the club has maintained this tradition for many years – raising thousands of pounds for good causes along the way. For 2023, they’re taking donations to support research and help for sufferers from Parkinson’s Disease.

On Tuesday 5th December, Santa will tour the Churchill Drive, Brookside Road, St Mary’s Crescent and Rufford Road areas. Then on Tuesday 12th December, look out for him outside Ruddington Co-op before touring the Distillery Street, Musters Road and Barleylands areas of our village. Both these Tuesday evening visits are scheduled between 5.45pm and 8.30pm.

So don’t miss Father Christmas on his travels.  2023 certainly looks set to be a ‘Santastic’ Christmas in Ruddington!
