Parking provision for those who visit our village centre by bicycle is set to be improved further by the addition of three more pairs of cycle racks on High Street and Church Street.
It follows Ruddington Parish Council‘s installation of two pairs of cycle racks on The Green in January as part of the Ruddington Village Centre Partnership ‘Traders’ Village Improvement Plan’. It has taken the others a little longer to get through Nottinghamshire County Council‘s planning process. However, they’ve now been approved outside Morton’s Deli/Phoenix Flowers, Ruddington Fish Bar and Coral Bookmakers – as shown in the mock-ups above and below.
Ruddington Parish Councillor, Mike Gaunt, who is also part of RVCP, as well as an elected Borough Councillor, says: “It is essential that, wherever possible, we encourage people to leave their cars at home and come into the village to use our fantastic local shops and services. The Parish Council continues to look at ways that we can make Ruddington more environmentally, socially and economically sustainable – and cycling safely into the centre provides one of these opportunities.”
The new cycle parking, which is in addition to the village centre racks outside the Co-op and wall brackets attached to some existing shop fronts, is to be located according to VIA‘s map below:-
Once the genuine cycle racks are installed we’ll bring you further ‘real’ photos of them here at RUDDINGTON.info!
