Family and friends are mourning the loss of Michael Bugg after his body was found yesterday in the River Trent. This followed an extensive search by police and the public for the former Ruddington resident.
He was formally identified last night. Efforts to establish Mr Bugg’s final movements are ongoing but his death is not being treated as suspicious.
Mr Bugg, who was 39, had been missing from his Silverdale home for three days. He was last seen leaving the Southbank Bar on Trent Bridge at around 1.10am on Sunday after celebrating a friend’s 40th birthday.
Detective Chief Inspector Karen Pearson of Nottinghamshire Police said: “We would like to thank the many people who came out seeking to assist officers during the search for Mr Bugg. Your assistance and support was appreciated by ourselves and the family of Mr Bugg.”
A JustGiving Page has now been set up in Michael Bugg’s memory – and to help his partner and young daughter at this sad and tragic time.
