A Ruddington Village Football Club player is turning heads on national television after joining the ‘Boys’ team on the new ITV2 “battle of the sexes” reality TV show ‘Survival of the Fittest’.
Set in the sizzling South African savannah, viewers saw Tom Wilson enter the lodge for the first time yesterday on Day 12 (Thursday 22nd February) and BOTH the teams seemed to be impressed by his physique! He’s been drafted in to try to help The Boys get back to their winning ways against The Girls during the gritty “It’s a Knockout” style fitness challenges.
Six foot five tall Tom, who was born in Ruddington, says: “I would describe myself as very confident, big and impulsive. My friends would describe me as loud and the centre of attention!” The series also focusses on the chemistry and relationships between the twelve lodge-mates alongside their numerous contests.
Back home, his stamina and muscles have been honed at Roko Health Club where Tom works as a personal trainer. He’s also a male model – as well as having been a footballer at Elms Park for most of his life. Both his hair and his number of tattoos have grown somewhat recently – ahead of his memorable television appearance!
After his initial victory yesterday, only time will tell whether Ruddington’s “man mountain” can continue to turn around the fortunes for his team of six alpha males, survive elimination and perhaps even WIN that ultimate cash prize of £40,000?!
“Survival of the Fittest” continues weekday evenings, between 9pm and 10pm, on ITV2.
