Motorists trying to get between Ruddington and Clifton have found themselves facing a long diversion this evening (Thursday 12th September) after Clifton Road was closed to traffic.
Officers put cordons in place – and blocked the route with police cars – to prevent access to and from Wilford Road at ‘Tavern Island’ after an accident near the end of Clifton Road. Eye-witnesses reported that a pedestrian was hurt after being involved in a collision with a vehicle.
Nottinghamshire Police confirm they were called at around 7:50pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a man in Clifton Road, Ruddington.
They say paramedics were called to the scene and a man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre with serious, but not life altering, injuries.
UPDATE: Police investigations were completed and the road was reopened at 2.49am on Friday (13th).
