Just four months’ ago the axing of CT4N’s number 22 and 23 Ruddington services had the knock-on effect of Nottingham City Transport (NCT) re-routing some of its daytime Navy 3 buses away from our village.
This was to maintain an hourly direct bus link from 8.30am to 3.30pm to the City Centre, Trent Bridge and Clifton Centre for the residents of Wilford Village and Silverdale (as service Navy 3A). It also meant that, between approximately 9.30am and 3.30pm on Mondays to Saturdays, Navy 3 buses began operating via Ruddington to Clifton only once an hour, rather than half-hourly as before.
However, there’s now some more welcome news for villagers who need to travel back to Ruddington mid-afternoon. After reviewing passenger numbers, NCT has announced that from Monday 30th January 2023 its 3.15pm bus from the City will once again operate as a Navy 3 (via Ruddington to Clifton) rather than a Navy 3A (via Wilford Village and Silverdale) – thus restoring our half-hourly bus frequency sooner each day.

Ruddingtonians are also reminded that “Get Around for £2” continues on our village bus services until March 31st 2023. Thanks to the government funded ‘Help for Households’ initiative, the standard adult single from Ruddington to Nottingham (and vice versa) is currently reduced from £2.50 to £2.00 on the Navy 3 and Green 10 throughout this three month period.
The £2.00 fare cap also applies on Kinchbus 9 services from Ruddington to The City or Loughborough – and all the stops in-between.
